It is with deep sorrow and regret that the officers and members of the English Consul Volunteer Fire Department announce the passing of beloved member, Mrs. Helene Nalley.

Helene Nalley was a 7-year member of the ECVFD, serving most recently as the Recording Secretary on the Board of Directors, however, her contributions and impacts on the department span many years beyond her time as a member. She was a long time supporter of her husband, the late Clarence Nalley, and became the chairperson of the Clarence Nalley Memorial Bingo each year after his passing. She dedicated many hours, and years, in service to the members of the department, and to the community as a whole.

Memorial service information will be shared as soon as it becomes available.

The entire membership of the English Consul VFD shares our thoughts and prayers with the Nalley/Courtney family, and to the countless people whose lives were touched by Helene’s kind, selfless personality, and her unending support to the ECVFD and the greater Baltimore Highlands community.

“Silently, one by one, in the infinite meadows of heaven,
Blossomed the lovely stars, the forget-me-nots of the angels.”
― Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
